Extended closure of our venues and facilities

The Victorian Government has announced that the lockdown in metropolitan Melbourne will remain in place until further notice.

There have been some changes to current restrictions which include:

  • -From 11.59pm on Thursday, September 2, playgrounds will reopen with strict rules. They will open for children aged under 12 only and only one parent or carer is permitted at the grounds. Adults are not allowed to remove their masks to eat or drink. Playgrounds will also have QR codes for checking in.
  • -In-home care, such as babysitters, will also be expanded to school-aged children, but only if both parents are authorised workers.

Continuing restrictions include:

  • -A curfew from 9pm to 5am
  • -Authorised worker permits
  • -Stay within 5 kms of home other than authorised work or for essential shopping that is required outside this distance
  • -Masks must be worn everywhere - inside and outside
  • -No visitors to the home
  • -No public gatherings

The five reasons to leave home are:

  • -Essential shopping
  • -Care giving/compassionate reasons
  • -Authorised work or permitted education
  • -Exercise for two hours per day with one other person
  • -To get tested or vaccinated if eligible

In response to the Victorian Government's announcement all Maroondah Leisure facilities will remain closed. This includes:

  • -Aquanation
  • -Aquahub
  • -The Rings
  • -Maroondah Nets
  • -Ringwood Golf
  • -Dorset Golf

All facility hire and programs including bootcamps, group fitness classes, Learn to Swim, gymnastics, stadium hire, golf and junior basketball programs will not run during the closure period.

What happens with my membership or visit pass?


All direct debit memberships will be paused for the duration of the closure. An adjustment will be applied to your membership profile based on the closure timeframe. Fixed term memberships will be paused for the duration of the closure. The expiry date will be extended based on the closure timeframe.

Learn to Swim and Gymnastic members

All direct debit Learn to Swim and Gymnastic memberships will be paused for the duration of the closure. You will not be charged for the period of time we are closed. For all lessons scheduled during the closure period a credit will be applied to your membership profile. 

Visit pass holders

Visit pass expiry dates will be extended based on the closure timeframe.


No suspension fees or limits will apply during the closure timeframe.

When can I book a round of golf?

If you have paid for a casual round of golf through MiClub during the closure period, you will receive a credit for future use. Bookings are currently closed.

What happens to my Biddy Ball program at The Rings?

A reimbursement will be arranged for missed lessons due to the closure. We will be in contact with you to make arrangements once the venue reopens.

What happens if I have hired a court or function room at The Rings or Maroondah Nets?

All bookings will be rescheduled when possible with no charge incurred for cancellation throughout the closure period.
