Our facilities offer access to all, with a range of features and programs for the community.
Accessible features at our facilities
Aquahub
Facility entry/exit
All Council leisure facilities are wheelchair accessible, including hands free and step free entrances and ramps/elevators to all areas.
Accessible bathroom/shower
- 2 accessible change rooms available.
- Both change rooms are equipped with ceiling hoists.
- There is a mechanical up/down bed and a fold down shower/change bench available in one of the change rooms.
Pool environment
- A waterproof wheelchair and entry ramps are available to assist with entry and exit from the pool.
- There are handrails at the entry point of all pools and a handrail that runs around the entire warm water pool.
- Pool equipment is not available for use. Patrons should bring their own equipment.
- Pool depths are between 0.95m-1.4m.
Gym
- All areas of the gym are wheelchair accessible with >1.5m circulation space between equipment.
- Wheelchair accessible weights machines (where the seat can be removed).
- Floor staff are available to assist with equipment set up.
- Arm bike that is accessible by manual and power wheelchairs.
Aquanation

- 9 accessible change rooms available (7 downstairs, 2 upstairs)
- 2 change rooms are equipped with ceiling hoists.
- There is a mechanical up/down bed and a fold down shower/change bench available in the change rooms.
Pool environment
- A waterproof wheelchair and entry ramps are available to assist with entry and exit from the pool.
- There are handrails at the entry point of all pools and a handrail that runs around the entire warm water pool.
- Pool equipment is not available for use. Patrons should bring their own equipment.
- Pool depths are between 1.1m and 1.4m.
- A mobile hoist is available in the warm water pool area.
Gym
- All areas of the gym are wheelchair accessible with >1.5m circulation space between equipment.
- Wheelchair accessible weights machines (where the seat can be removed).
- Floor staff are available to assist with equipment set up.
- Arm bike that is accessible by manual and power wheelchairs.

Carer and Allied Health Professional entry fees
When accessing Aquanation or Aquahub, all health practitioners must pay an entry fee for the area they are accessing. For example, a physio accompanying a patron to the gym needs to pay the casual gym entry fee.
If a health practitioner or carer is requesting free access to the venue, to confirm eligibility for complimentary access for carers/support staff, all Council leisure facilities accept the nationally recognised :
This card must be presented to gain complimentary access to the venue.
Please note: We allow multiple support people on one Companion Card or We Care card (for example, multiple carers can enter for free with a client who holds either card).

Swimming lessons
Available at Aquahub and Aquanation
Children and adults with a disability are nurtured by our teachers, who are experienced in providing tailored, positive and inclusive programs. We also offer 1:1 lessons.

Aquabuddies
Available at Aquahub
Aquabuddies is a casual swimming program for adults with disabilities. The program focuses on inclusion, physical activity and socialisation. The water relieves stress and helps the body move without assistance.
