Aquanation pools will be closed all day on Friday 6 July
5 July 2018
Aquanation pools will be closed on Friday 6 July.
The pool closure has been scheduled as a preventative measure due to one reported incident of cryptosporidium infection (also referred to as ‘crypto’), which may have occurred at Aquanation. Council takes the health and safety of our community extremely seriously, and as such is taking this preventative measure to ensure water quality is upheld for all patrons.
This is a timely reminder to follow some simple guidelines to prevent the spread of infection when visiting any aquatic facility.
Parents/guardians should ensure they and their children:
- Do not swim if you have diarrhoea or if you have had diarrhoea in the past two weeks;
- Shower and wash thoroughly with soap before entering the pool;
- Wash your hands with soap after going to the toilet or changing a nappy;
- Avoid swallowing pool water.
For further information relating to cryptosporidium, please go to: https://www2.health.vic.gov.au/public-health/water/aquatic-facilities/cryptosporidium-in-pools
If you have any concerns about your health or the health of your child, please consider seeking medical advice.
While Aquanation is closed, access to aquatic facilities are available at Aquahub (free access to all members). Please click here for Aquahub opening hours.

We apologise for any inconvenience.
